FLEX I/O analog input, output, and combination modules are blocked transfer modules that interface analog signals with any Allen-Bradley programmable controllers that have block transfer capability. Block transfer programming moves input from the module’s memory to a designated area in the processor data table and outputs data words from a designated area in the processor data table to the module’s memory. Block transfer programming also moves configuration words from the processor data table to module memory.

If there are rungs that already perform reads and writes to the module, no additional rungs are necessary. A simplified example of a BTR and BTW rung for 1794-IF4I follow (the 1794-OF4I is read length 6, write length 7; the 1794-IF2XOF2I is read length 7, write length 7)
