1. Introduction of ball mill end cover castings and forgings

The end cover of the ball mill is one of the main parts of the ball mill produced by our factory. End cover material is ZG270-500.

The strength of the dangerous section of the ball mill end cover is the first problem to be considered in the design of the end cover, because the rather heavy ball mill barrel is supported on the main bearing by the end cover.

The ball mill end cover is generally slightly conical, which is designed to take into account the configuration of the main bearing, the bending resistance of the journal and the problem of avoiding big gear touching the foundation of the main bearing. The end cover of large and medium-sized ball mill is mostly made of cast steel, while the small ball mill is made of ductile iron. In order to ensure the concentricity of the axis of the end cover and the cylinder, the end cover and the journal are usually cast into one. But in the case of smelting and casting equipment capacity is not enough, they can also be cast separately, after processing, they are fastened together, and finally mechanical processing.

 

 

2. Processing technology measures of ball mill end cover castings and forgings

3. Ball mill inlet and outlet cover castings and forgings

The main technical points of the integral end cover in the processing process are the journal of the end cover. The ball mill generally uses the static bearing, and the journal is the main contact surface. The size, roughness and shape and position tolerance requirements are very strict. Within 05mm, the surface roughness should be ≤0. 8um. For this requirement, the measures we take are to ensure the tolerance of size and shape and position through the working procedure, to leave the amount of grinding in the journal area during finishing, and finally to ensure the roughness of the journal area by grinding and polishing with sand belt. Because the belt grinding is always in a flexible state in the grinding process, the surface roughness can be reduced to meet the requirements of the drawing and the shape and position tolerance can not be changed. For example, there are sporadic small defects in the journal after finishing. The defects should be ground open and then welded with argon arc welding. Finally, the oil stone is ground well. If there is a high point, the ball mill will wear out the bearing tile supporting it in the process of field operation.
