BRUNEI FOREST RESERVES Where the rentis/site is within a Forest Reserve, the Contractor shall observe, and procure observance by all connected with his operations, all regulations and restrictions issued by the Forestry Department of Brunei and related governing authorities. 1.3 CLIMATE The climate of Brunei is tropical. The ambient air temperature in the coastal plain varies between 19°C and 45°C, with an average of 32°C, although direct sun temperature may reach 65°C. Humidity is high, with relative humidity of between 55-100% being frequently registered. The frequency of thunderstorms is high, with an average Ceraunic level of 116 lightning days per annum and a maximum of 170 having been recorded. Mean monthly rainfall is 360 mm highest and 180 mm lowest, and water levels of streams are liable to rise quickly in periods of intense rainfall. Winds are generally light and gusts of higher than 35 m/s are rarely recorded. 1.4 STATUTORY REGULATIONS The Works and all plant, equipment and materials forming part of the Contract shall comply in all respects with any relevant Brunei Statutory Regulations, By-Laws and orders currently in force. 1.5 COMPLIANCE WITH STANDARDS Unless otherwise specified, all Standards used shall be in compliance with either the British Standards (BS) or IEC Recommendations or any other approved Standards. A copy each of such Standards shall be submitted to DES before commencement of site work. If the Tenderer offers materials or equipment which conform to Standards other than those specified herein or published by the IEC, full details of the differences between the proposed Standard and the specified BS or equivalent IEC Recommendations shall be stated by the Tenderer in the Technical Schedule.
