Generator set
As the size of the diesel engine generator set decreases, the
temperature rises rapidly, reaching the ignition point of diesel.
The diesel is ignited, the mixed gas burns violently, and its
volume expands rapidly, pushing the piston down, which is called
‘work’.
Each cylinder performs work in a certain order, and the thrust
acting on the piston becomes the force that pushes the crankshaft
to rotate through the connecting rod, thereby driving the
crankshaft to rotate. Using the principle of ‘electromagnetic
induction’, the generator will output induced electromotive force,
which can generate current through the closed load circuit. Only
the most basic working principle of the generator set is described
here.
To obtain usable and stable power output, a series of diesel engine
and generator control, protection devices and circuits are also
needed.
Diesel generator sets
It is composed of engine, generator and control system, so it is
called generator set.
Diesel generator set is a kind of power equipment that uses diesel
engine as the prime mover to drive synchronous generator to
generate electricity. It is a power generating device with fast
start-up, convenient operation and maintenance, low investment, and
strong environmental adaptability.
