We opened plastic molds of the connectors, sockets, plugs and receptacles. 18AWG pure copper quality wires are employed to manufacture these cables. We can always make the cables with excellent connectivity and durability.

 

The J1939 female socket is with a locking ring. Rotating the locking ring after plugging assures that the connector won’t come unplugged accidentally.

 

The end of Deutsch 9-Pin female and male plugs can be overmolded or not, according to your needs. If the ends are overmolded, the cables are more sturdy and durable. If not overmolded, the price can be lower because the raw material and labour cost is saved.

The Deutsch 9 Pin female socket is Type 2, so its Pin F is with smalller diameter as Pin C and Pin J. Type 2 J1939 female sockets can be inserted into Type 1 or Type 2 J1939 male receptacles.
 

 

The Deutsch 9 Pin male receptacle is Type 1, so its Pin F is with bigger diameter. Type 1 or Type 2 J1939 female sockets can be inserted into Type 1 J1939 male receptacles.


 
The OBD2 female connector is with KET terminals which make the OBD2 female connector more endurable.

The 6-wire cable also includes wiring for the J1708 lines. If you do not need the J1708 wires, it is better not to connect them as sometimes the added lines can interfere with the operation of some GPS trackers.

 

The pin assignment or pin out can also be customized according to your needs. If there is no need for more pins to be connected, we suggest we just connect the necessary pins you need. If more pins are connected, the price of the cable will be higher because the raw material and labour cost will be higher.


 
Application
 

This cable is used to connect telematics, fleet management devices or trucking technology devices such as GPS Trackers or ELDs (Electronic Logging Devices) to commercial vehicles that have the J1939 9-pin round Deutsch ports.


This cable will also allow OBD2 diagnostic devices or scanners or fault code readers (with the appropriate software) to connect to the round J1939 connector. Bear in mind that most OBD2 software and scanners are based on reading PIDs, which are single parameters. J1939 is a PGN based protocol, where each PGN contains multiple parameters. Your diagnostic or scanner tool must be able to handle PGNs if it is to work with this cable.
