The Ballot Chair is a handcrafted, solid oak design. The most significant challenge was to produce a chair that efficiently stacks whilst retaining an elegant form. The sections of oak that make up the chair are thin but extremely strong, enabling the back to be narrower at the top. The chair is a simple, tactile and versatile design that is a seamless edition to the collection.

Isokon Plus is pleased to introduce the Ballot Chair, which was showcased at designjunction as part of London Design Festival 2017. The new solid oak chair was produced in collaboration with Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and handmade by Isokon Plus in London.

This launch will celebrate the 21st anniversary of Isokon’s first collaboration with Barber & Osgerby, the Loop Coffee Table in 1996. Building on the language of the Home Dining Table and Portsmouth Bench, both handmade by Isokon Plus, Barber & Osgerby’s design for the lightweight and stackable Ballot Chair makes it ideal for home and commercial settings. The solid oak chair will be available in black, pale and clear lacquered finishes plus in raw oak from the Isokon Plus website
