Fihser DLC3010 Digital Level Controller 249W displacer level
transmitter
The Fisher FIELDVUE DLC3010 digital level controller helps you gain
easy access to information critical to your process operation.
Gather information about the process, instrument, or sensor using
the 475 or 375 Field Communicator. The DLC3010 digital level
controller can be used in analog or HART digital signaling mode
with the DeltaV system.
Specifications
Specifications for the DLC3010 digital level controller are shown
in table 1-1. Specifications for the 249 sensor are shown in table
1-3. Specifications for the Field Communicator can be found in the
Product
Manual for the Field Communicator.

Features
For quick analog transmitter replacement, the instrument may be
configured with default sensor data, zero level offset,
differential process SG, and zero/span procedure only.
Accurate, high-gain analog-to-digital conversion enables
measurement of small changes in the process variable. This allows
for use in difficult liquid level, interface, or density
applications.
An internal temperature sensor enables consistent performance of
the digital level controller, despite ambient temperature changes.
Mechanical safeguards designed into the digital level controller
help to withstand physical abuse often incurred during installation
or in transport, without compromising performance.
Field wiring connections are in a compartment separated from the
electronics. This protects the electronics from any moisture
brought into the housing by the field wiring.
Includes self-diagnostics that detect an error that may render the
process variable measurement inaccurate.
Using the Field Communicator, you can perform several operations
with the DLC3010 digital level controller. You can interrogate,
configure, calibrate, or test the digital level controller. Using
the HART protocol, information from the field can be integrated
into control systems or be received on a single loop basis.
DLC3010 digital level controllers are designed to directly replace
standard pneumatic and electro-pneumatic level transmitters.
DLC3010 digital
level controllers mount on a wide variety of caged and cagelss 249
level sensors. They mount on other manufacturers’ displacer type
level sensors through the use of mounting adaptors.
249 Caged Sensors (see table 1-6)
249, 249B, 249BF, 249C, 249K, and 249L sensors side-mount on the
vessel with the displacer
mounted inside a cage outside the vessel. (The 249BF caged sensor
is available only in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.)
249 Cageless Sensors (see table 1-7)
249BP, 249CP, and 249P sensors top-mount on the vessel with the
displacer hanging down into the vessel.
249VS sensor side-mounts on the vessel with the displacer hanging
out into the vessel.
249W wafer-style sensor mounts on top of a vessel or on a
customer-supplied cage.
Main technical parameter
Power supply: 12~30V DC; the controller has reverse polarity
protection.(when HART is
communicating, the voltage of controller ≥17.75V DC)
Output signal: 4~20 mA DC (Positive direction – the increase of level, interface, or density make output
increase; Negative direction – the increase of level, interface, or density make output decrease.)
Measuring range: 300mm—2500mm (can also over range)
