Eco-Friendly Water Powered Electric Generator Turbulent Hydro Turbine Price With Competitive Price
The Turgo turbine is an impulse turbine, and can handle flow rates
that are higher than those a Pelton turbine can handle. This
ability to deal better with large volumes of water gives the Turgo
turbine an advantage when used in hydroelectric plants that have
medium hydraulic heads. Although they are better able to deal with
high flow rates, Turgo turbines are slightly less efficient.
Since the runners on these turbines are smaller and faster spinning, some Turgo turbines can be connected directly to a generator instead of having to use a speed-increasing transmission.
In a Turgo, the runner is less expensive to make than a Pelton Wheel and does not need an airtight housing like the Francis. It also has a higher specific speed, handling a greater flow than the Pelton Wheel. This leads to a reduced generator and installation cost. Turgos operate in a head range where the Francis and Pelton overlap.
Working Principle
When water flows from the pressure foray into the turbine nozzle through pipe, its potential energy is converted to kinetic energy by the nozzle. The high speed water jet comes out from the nozzle strikes at the buckets (blades) at a certain angle (not in a tangential direction) against the rotating surface of the runner. The water flows into the propeller (turbine runner) from one side and flows out from other side.
