Functions and Features

The NP400/NP400E provides functions and features such as OTN interfaces and ESC.

Basic function	NP400/NP400E: 160xODU0/160xODUflex/80xODU1/20xODU2/20xODU2e/4xODU3/2xODU4<->1xOTUC2 Supports mixed transmission of ODU0, ODU1, ODUflex, ODU2, ODU2e, ODU3, and ODU4 signals. NP400: Multiplexes and demultiplexes two optical signals. That is, the NP400 board receives one OTUC2 optical signal from the NP400E board and converts its own OTUC2 optical signal and the received OTUC2 optical signal into one multiplexed optical signal.
Cross-connect capabilities	Supports the cross-connection of 160 channels of ODU0/ODUflex signals or 80 channels of ODU1 signals or twenty channels of ODU2/ODU2e signals or four channels of ODU3 signals or two channel of ODU4 signals between the NP400/NP400E and the cross-connect board.
OTN function	Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing as defined in the ITU-T G.709. OTUC2 layer: supports the SM function. ODUC2 layer: supports the PM function. ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 2e, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports the PM and TCM function, and PM and TCM non-intrusive monitoring functions.
WDM specification	Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications.

PRBS test function	Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side.
LPT function	Not supported
FEC coding	SDFEC NOTE: Boards that use different FEC modes cannot interconnect with each other.
Alarms and performance events monitoring	Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures. Monitors the laser bias current, laser operating temperature, and single-wavelength optical power. Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
IEEE 1588v2	Supports the BC, OC modes.

Electrical-layer ASON	Supported NOTE: When both NP400 and NP400E boards are configured on a network, the ODUk TE links of electrical-layer ASON must be configured to the same SRLG (Shared Risk Link Group).
