95% 99% alumina ceramic rod, pipes are ceramic material with 95 or 99 alumina (Al2O3) as the main body. Alumina ceramics have good conductivity, mechanical strength and high temperature resistance. It should be noted that ultrasonic cleaning is required. 95% 99% alumina rod, alumina pipes are kind of ceramics with a wide range of uses. Because of its superior properties, they become more and more widely used in modern society to meet the needs of daily use and special properties.

 

High-purity alumina ceramic rods pipes are ceramic materials with an Al2O3 content of more than 99.9%. Because their sintering temperature is as high as 1650-1990 ℃, and the transmission wavelength is 1 to 6 μm, they are generally made of molten glass to replace platinum crucibles; use its light transmission It can be used as a sodium lamp tube, and can be used as an integrated circuit substrate and high-frequency insulating material in the electronics industry.


Ordinary alumina ceramic rods or ceramic pipes can be divided into 99 porcelain, 95 porcelain, 90 porcelain, 85 porcelain and other varieties according to different Al2O3 content. Sometimes those with Al2O3 content of 80% or 75% are also classified as ordinary alumina ceramic series. Among them, 99 alumina porcelain materials are used to make high temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes and special wear-resistant materials, such as ceramic bearings, ceramic seals and water valve discs; 95 alumina porcelain is mainly used as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant parts; 85 porcelain Because part of talc is often mixed in, the electrical performance and mechanical strength are improved, and it can be sealed with metals such as molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, etc., and some are used as electrical vacuum devices.

Alumina ceramic rods and pipes are the most well-known and most commonly used fine ceramic material. They have the same sintered crystal body as sapphire and ruby. They have been used for decades in electrical components for their high electrical insulation, and are widely used in mechanical parts for their high strength, and corrosion- and wear-resistance.

Ceramic rods and ceramic pipes have a wide range of uses. Due to the different content of Al2O3, their properties and uses are also different. Let's take a look at what is special about alumina ceramics.

 

1. High mechanical strength
The bending strength of Alumina rods or pipes sintered products can reach 250MPa, and the hot-pressed products can reach 500MPa. The purer the Al2O3 composition, the higher the strength. The strength can be maintained up to 900°C at high temperatures, as shown in the figure below. Using the mechanical strength of Al2O3 porcelain, it can be made into device porcelain and other mechanical components. The Mohs hardness of Al2O3 ceramics can reach 9, plus it has excellent wear resistance, so it is widely used in the manufacture of tools, grinding wheels, ceramic nails, bearings, etc., among which Al2O3 ceramic tools and industrial valves are the most widely used.

 

2. High resistivity, good electrical insulation performance
The room temperature resistivity is 1015Ω·cm, and the insulation strength is 15kV/mm. Using its insulation and strength, it can be made into substrates, sockets, spark plugs, and circuit shells.

 

3. High hardness
The Mohs hardness is 9, plus excellent wear resistance, so it is widely used to manufacture tools, grinding wheels, abrasives, drawing dies, extrusion dies, bearings, etc. When Al2O3 ceramic tools are used to process automobile engines and aircraft parts, high precision can be obtained at high cutting speeds.

 

4. High melting point, corrosion resistance
With a melting point of 2050°C, it has good resistance to the erosion of molten metals such as Be, Sr, Ni, Al, V, Ta, Mn, Fe, and Co. It also has high resistance to erosion by NaOH, glass and slag. Does not interact with Si, P, Sb, Bi in an inert atmosphere. Therefore, it can be used as refractory materials, furnace tubes, glass drawing crucibles, hollow balls, fibers, thermocouple protective covers, etc.

 

5. Excellent chemical stability
Many composite sulfides, phosphides, arsenides, chlorides, nitrides, bromides, iodides, oxides and sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and hydrofluoric acid do not interact with Al2O3. Therefore, Al2O3 can be made into pure metal and single crystal growth crucibles, human joints, artificial bones, etc.

 

6. Optical characteristics
It can be made into light-transmitting materials (transparent Al2O3 porcelain) to make sodium vapor lamp tubes, microwave fairings, infrared windows, laser oscillator components, etc.

 

7. Ionic conductivity
Used as solar cell material and battery material.

Powder preparation
The alumina powder entering the factory is prepared into powder materials according to different product requirements and different molding processes. The particle size of the powder is below 1μm. If high-purity alumina ceramic products are manufactured, in addition to the alumina purity of 99.99%, ultra-fine crushing and uniform particle size distribution are required.

 

Molding method
The molding methods of alumina ceramic products include dry pressing, grouting, extrusion, cold isostatic pressing, injection, casting, hot pressing and hot isostatic pressing. In recent years, domestic and foreign molding technology methods such as filter press molding, direct solidification injection molding, gel injection molding, centrifugal grouting and solid free molding have been developed. Different product shapes, sizes, complex shapes and precision products require different molding methods.

 

Firing technology
The technical method of densifying the granular ceramic body and forming a solid material is called sintering. Sintering is a method of removing the voids between particles in the green body, removing a small amount of gas and impurity organic matter, so that the particles grow and combine with each other to form new substances.
The heating device used for firing is the most widely used electric furnace. In addition to atmospheric sintering, namely pressureless sintering, there are also hot pressing sintering and hot isostatic pressing sintering.
