Fused Cast AZS Brick 33, 36, 41 Refractory Bricks for Glass Furnace

Fused Cast AZS Brick (also known as AZS brick) is made by the process of completely melting the raw material firstly and then cast in the mold, finally cooling, solidification. This product shrinkage should be paid special attention in using, which is caused during the volume shrinkage in the condensation process. AZS brick casting methods divide into ordinary casting, tilting casting, no shrinkage casting and quasi-no shrinkage casting. AZS brick with different casting methods can meet the use requirements of various parts in the ceramic frit furnace, spent flower alkali furnace, glass kiln.

Fused Cast AZS Brick is the most widely used materials both in glass contact and superstructure of glass melting furnaces. They can be classified by their zirconia content, which basically defines their corrosion resistance.
NR-33 32% - 34% ZrO2: The reference category of fused-cast industry. Main applications include glass contact (paving tiles, working-end walls) and superstructures.
NR36 36% ZrO2: With its improved corrosion resistance and combined with the "reinforced filling" process, the optimum choice for melter sidewalls application.
NR41 41% ZrO2: with the highest corrosion resistance within the AZS family, this type of material is used for all demanding glass contact applications in the void free configuration : electrode blocks, submerged walls, throats, and in some cases melter sidewalls. Available as well, for sidewall application, in the specific "reinforced filling" version.

The fused cast AZS bricks can be devied into different types according its casting techniques, PT [normal casting], QX [tilt casting ] , ZWS [reinforced casting ] and WS [void-free casting].

WS while casting, the casting size is bigger than that is required. Most of the voids concentrate in the header which is subsequently cut off with a diamond saw, and then the block in required size is left, most used in side wall and flow.

PT The brick made by normal casting has normal shrinkage void; it is often used in the upper structure of furnace and the interface parts which touch molten glass.

Fused cast AZS brick for glass furnace and other industrial kiln, the using part of glass melting furnace is the masonry upper wall, small stove arch, small stove stack, tongue arch and chest wall, etc..
Application of fused cast AZS brick should pay attention to the following issues:
(1) irregular changes of thermal expansion.
The expansion curve of fused cast AZS brick in 1000 ℃ near a section of abnormal, its internal ZrO2 crystal reversible crystal transition, a larger volume change, therefore, containing ZrO2 products should not be used at temperatures around 1000 ° C, there are often sharp fluctuations in the site. Oven roast kiln, the temperature change in the 900 ~ 1150 ℃ can not be too large, generally can not exceed 15 ℃ / h, requires a smooth warming. Some parts to prevent blowing cold, need to use other brick protection, to prevent the burst.
(2) shrinkage casting molding, the casting often appear shrinkage, where the brick hole more, the density is poor, so in the puzzle glass melting part of the wall, will shrink into the kiln direction, if cast Mouth outward, when the brick body erosion to a very thin, it will cause leakage of glass leakage accident. In the upper part of the kiln in the use of flame space, the service life is very long, it will not run the glass problem, so will be used to extend the mouth to extend the service life.
(3) fused cast AZS brick and fire clay refractory brick contact with masonry, will occur eutectic phenomenon when up to high temperature 1300 ℃ , therefore, When choose refractory material, should avoid the eutectic phenomenon of two refractory contact masonry, Such as if silica brick below the fused AZS brick, the most vulnerable to the erosion of fused cast AZS brick.
