The adductor muscle is a group of muscles located in the middle
(inner) of the thigh. They start from the bottom of the hip bone
and run along the inner thigh all the way to the inner femur. The
pubic muscle is the most powerful adductor muscle.
Its main function is to adduct and retract the thighs back to the midline of the body. The gracilis muscle is attached between the pubis and tibia. It shapes the shape of the inner thigh, but its strength is relatively weak. It has effects on both the knees and hips. There are three muscles specifically referred to as the "adductor muscle": the greater adductor muscle, the shorter adductor muscle, and the longer adductor muscle.
