Jars were really well packed in styrofoam, no breakage w/ shipping. Glass is decent thickness & completely plain (which is what I wanted), no names or pictures embossed into glass. I plan to use these for centerpieces, so I don't know about the quality of the lids or how well they seal. ----By John
