Hot dipped GI steel sheet & coil is produced by using the hot-dip process, which is the process of coating carbon steel with zinc. The end result of this process is a layer of zinc on each side of the steel sheet or coil, tightly adhered to the steel through the formation of an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer.
The bonding layer is created by a diffusion process when heated steel is in contact with molten zinc. Chesterfield is able to provide customers with hot dipped galvanized steel sheet & coil which can meet their ASTM requirements and also offer customer-driven surface finish options.

Hot dipped GI Steel Coil is superior in performance and excellently controlled in zinc spangle and coating. This product is mainly used for constructional purposes, such as building roofs, windows, doors, roller shutters, and lightgage steel joists.
In addition, it is also widely used in automobile industries, such as vehicle shell, chassis, trunk lid, oil tank, and fender; metallurgical steel sash back, and electric equipments (e.g. refrigerator base and shell, kitchen equipments, and color coated steel baseplate).
GI Steel Coil is usually packaged and shipped in two different ways:
1. Steel Sheet Piles – GI Steel Coil is usually delivered in bundles, with each bundle containing several sheets. It is then secured with straps to ensure that it is tightly bound. The bundles are then loaded onto the delivery vehicle, typically a flatbed truck or a trailer.
2. Coils – GI Steel Coil is also available in coils, with each coil being a specific length and diameter. The coils are then loaded onto a delivery vehicle using a crane and secured with straps. The vehicle is then driven to the designated destination.
