F436 washers, also known as high tensile washers, are specialized washers designed for use in applications that require high strength and load-bearing capabilities. F436 washers are available in two different finishes: plain and Dacromet. Plain F436 washers are uncoated and have a natural steel finish. On the other hand, Dacromet-coated F436 washers have a thin, protective coating of Dacromet applied to their surface. Dacromet is a chrome-free, water-based coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance. It forms a sacrificial barrier that protects the washer from rust and other forms of corrosion, even in harsh environments. Dacromet-coated F436 washers are commonly used in outdoor applications, coastal areas, or anywhere that demands enhanced corrosion protection.
When choosing between plain and Dacromet-coated F436 washers, consider the environmental conditions and the level of corrosion resistance required for your specific application. If corrosion resistance is a concern, Dacromet-coated F436 washers offer superior protection and extended service life.
