HDPE pipe Installation
Pressure Test
1. The PE pipeline should be immersed in water before pressure test for no less than 12 hours.
2. The hydrostatic pressure of the hydrostatic test should not be less than 1.5 times of the working pressure of the pipeline, and the test pressure should not be less than 0.80 MPa. The pressure test should not replace the hydrostatic test.
3. The length of hydraulic test should not be more than 1000 meters. For the pipe section with accessories in the middle, the length of hydraulic test section should not be more than 500 meters. Pipes with different materials in the system should be tested separately.
4. The end support baffle of pressure test section should be checked for its firmness and reliability. When pressure test is carried out, the support facilities should be strictly prohibited from loosening and collapse. Valves shall not be used as sealing plates.
5. Mechanical equipment with metering device should be used for pressurization. When spring pressure gauge is used, its accuracy should not be lower than 1.5 grade, the range of measurement should be 1.3-1.5 times of test pressure, and the diameter of dial should not be less than 150 mm.
6. The pressure test section shall not include water hammer eliminator, outdoor fire hydrant and other pipeline accessory systems containing various valves, which shall be in full open state.
