Description:
The MS is used to purify air at
normal temperature, and boosting turbine double expanders are used
to produce refrigeration; structural packing is applied to
fractionating column, and argon is produced with complete
rectification.
The KDON-3000Y/1300Y plant employs general
molecular sieve process, the fractionating column employs complete
rectification to produce argon, and the main equipments of cold box
are low pressure equipments, whose operation is simple, convenient
and reliable.

Competitive Advantage:
- The air pre-cooling system is equipped with air cooling column
which can effectively wash off feed air such acid matters as
SO2,NOx,HCl,Cl2 harmful to molecular sieve so as to guarantee the
service life of molecular sieve.
- The process employed by this air separation plant is an advanced
and technologically experienced process to ensure reliable running,
convenience operation, safety and low consumption.
- The molecular sieve adsorber is constructed with double-layer bed
(activated alumina + molecular sieve). The activated alumina bed at
the bottom layer can effectively protect molecular and lengthen the
service life of molecular sieve. The application pf double-layer
bed can reduce the resistance and temperature for regeneration in
adsorbers and reduce the power consumption for regeneration as
well.
- The technologies of structural packing and extraction of argon
through complete rectification are used in the design and
fabrication of fractionating column so as to create such advantages
as high argon extraction rate, low power consumption, safe &
reliable running and convenient operation & maintenance. More
than 100 columns with structural packing have been designed and
manufactured by Hangyang itself and those which are in operation
have met the requirements of design. A lot of experience with
design, manufacture and running has been accumulated by Hangyang
through wide cooperation with such companies as Sulzer and Air
Liquide. Hangyang has so far established a complete system for
design, manufacture and inspection of structural packing column and
the requirement for completion of fractionating column can be fully
met.
