Torsion springs belong to the category of spiral springs. Torsional springs can store and release angular energy or statically hold a device by rotating a moment arm about the central axis of the spring body. The end of the torsion spring is fixed to the other components, and as the other components rotate around the center of the spring, the spring pulls them back to their initial position, generating torque or rotational force.
Such springs are usually close-fitting, but the springs are spaced to reduce friction. They exert resistance to rotation or rotational forces. According to the application requirements, the design of torsion spring rotation (clockwise or counterclockwise), so as to determine the spring rotation.
Torsion spring is a mechanical part that uses elasticity to work. Usually made of spring steel. The main parameters
D (spring wire diameter) : This parameter describes the diameter of
the spring wire.
Dd (maximum mandrel diameter): This parameter describes the maximum
diameter of a spring shaft in industrial applications, tolerance
±2%.
Di (inside diameter): The inside diameter of the spring is equal to
the outside diameter minus twice the wire diameter. In the working
process of the torsion spring, the inner diameter can be reduced to
the diameter of the mandrel,
Inner diameter tolerance ±2%.
De (outside diameter) : equal to the inside diameter plus twice the
wire diameter. Torsion spring in the process of working, the outer
diameter will become smaller, tolerance (±2%±0.1)mm.
L0 (natural length): Note: the natural length will decrease during
operation, tolerance ±2%.
Ls (support length): This is the length from the center axis of the
spring coil body to the spring support, tolerance ±2%.
An (maximum torsion Angle): maximum torsion Angle of torsion
spring, tolerance ±15 degrees.
Fn (maximum load): maximum force allowed on torsional spring
support, tolerance ±15%.
Mn (maximum torque): Maximum allowable torque (Newton * mm),
tolerance ±15%.
R (spring stiffness): This parameter determines the resistance of
the spring when operating. Unit Newton * mm/degree, tolerance ±15%.
A1 & F1 & M1 :(torsion Angle, load and torque) : The
following formula can be used to calculate the torsion Angle A1 =
M1/R. Knowing the load, the formula M = F*Ls can be used to
calculate the torque.
Support position: the torsion spring support has four positions
:0°, 90°,180° and 270°
Spiral direction: the right spring rotates counterclockwise, the
left spring rotates clockwise. All of our springs can be produced
in both turns.
