The brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. The dissolution of copper is accelerated with the increase of nitric acid concentration, then the brass surface appears gray, nitric acid concentration is low brass surface color is red; The concentration of hydrochloric acid is high, the dissolution rate of zinc in brass parts is accelerated, and the surface of the workpiece appears brown, otherwise it appears light yellow; Sulfuric acid has almost the same effect as hydrochloric acid; Therefore, the missing ingredients should be replenished immediately and the color will not change.
