Anhui Liu An Gua Pian green tea for fat loss
In the mountains of Liu An in Anhui, we found a tea which has its name because it is the same shape as a melon slice. However, the Liu An Gua Pian is especially famous because of its unique taste and fragrance. Liu An Gua Pian is a crispy summery tea, with a hint of smoke. Some people have also noted the taste of fresh vegetables in this tea. After picking the tea leaves, Liu An Gua Pian is baked in big pans leading the tea to have a slightly smoky taste
Lu An melon seed, often written Liu An Gua Pian and sometimes just Guapian tea, is a well-known style of green tea from Anhui, China. The name "melon seed" references the way the leaves have an oval shape resembling melon seeds, after they unfurl during brewing. The dry leaf, on the other hand, has a rolled, cylindrical shape.
It uses the second leaf on the branch and it is the ONLY green tea in CHina that does not include any tips, buds, or higher leave.

Brewing Guide:
Use 3-4 grams of this tea per glass along with water just below boiling (70-80 degrees Celsius). To prepare half a liter of this tea, use around 5 grams depending on your personal preference. Don't start with too much tea, otherwise it will become bitter. Steep the tea for a few seconds if you like mild tea or for a little more than a minute of you like strong tea. When using the KungFu tea set, use 3-4 grams each time you steep the tea. It's not necessary to wash this tea before steeping, but it doesn't hurt. | Brew Guide | 1) Warm up- First to warm up the vessels, then to pour out the hot
water; 2) Smell dried tea fragrance- Then put the Liu An Gua Pian Green Tea in glass cup/pot, and shake the vessel gently for about 3-5 seconds, then smell the dried leaves aroma. 3) First infusion- pour 1/3 of the hot water into the cup again for the first infusion, rotate the teas gently inside the water and smell the pleasing floral aroma, next to steep for around 1-2 minutes before sipping the tea liquid. 4) Second infusion- re-pour the hot water inside the vessel, and steep it for 2-3 minutes for the second infusion. The successive infusion time can be 1 minute longer than previously until the tea liquid taste is weak. |
