Piston rings are metal rings inserted into piston grooves. Piston rings are divided into two types: compression rings and oil rings. The compression ring can be used to seal the combustible mixture in the combustion chamber. The oil ring is used to scrape excess oil from the cylinder.

Piston ring is a kind of metal elastic ring with large outward expansion deformation, which is assembled into the corresponding ring groove in the profile. A piston ring in reciprocating and rotating motion, depending on the pressure difference of the gas or liquid, forms a seal between the outer circular surface of the ring and the cylinder, and between the ring and one side of the ring groove.

1) the piston ring shall be mounted into the cylinder liner with a certain opening clearance at the interface.

2) the piston ring should be installed on the piston, in the ring groove, along the height of the direction of certain side clearance.

3) the chrome plated ring should be installed in the first opening, not facing the direction of the vortex pit on the top of the piston.

4) the openings of each piston ring are staggered at 120℃, and are not allowed to face the piston pin hole.

5) the piston ring with conical section shall be installed with the conical surface upward.
