Product Details

Porcine Foot and Mouth disease Virus A Antibody (P.FMDV-A Ab) Test, VETERINARY Porcine Range

Application:

The Porcine Foot and Mouth Disease Virus Anti-A Antibody (P.FMDV-A Ab) Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of serotype-A FMDV antibodies in procine’s serum, plasma. It’s for the monitoring of FMDV-A antibody level and providing an important reference for the vaccination plan.

Description:

The P.FMDV-A Antibody Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test cassette has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) line region and a C (control) line region before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample well on the cassette, the liquid will laterally flow through thesurface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated FMDVA antigens. If there are anti-A FMDV antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appear in the T line region. If there are not anti-A FMDV antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will not appear in the T line region. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

How to use?

Allow the test cassette, specimen, buffer, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) prior to testing.

1. Collect swine’s fresh whole blood, and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens. Do not leave the specimens at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
2. Move the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within one hour.
3. Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of sample(approximately 25μL) and immediately add 2 drops of buffer (approximately 40μL) into the specimen well (S) of the test cassette, then start the timer. See illustration below.
4. Read the results in 5-10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, no matter T line is clear or vague.
Negative: Only C line appears.
Invalid: No colored line appears in C line region, no matter whether T line appears.
