Submarine hydro pneumatic fender is used in catamarans, semi-submersible platforms, and drilling rigs for a long time. This submarine hydropneumatic fender is filled with water and air inside to make it vertically installed against submerged hulls with a counterweight. It’s always regarded as a buffer to reduce shock in between due to its excellent performance of great elasticity and abrasion-resistance.
Submarine hydro pneumatic fenders are made of natural rubber and tire cord reinforcement in the shape of cylindrical, which is strong enough to withstand external forces and severe weather conditions.

Submarine Hydro Pneumatic Fender Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Submarine hydro pneumatic fenders are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner rubber layer is designed to seal the air inside the
fender.

layers which enable it to make it cope against the shear forces and
compression forces.

layers to enable it to be pressure-resistant and
puncture-resistant. The submarine hydro pneumatic fender whose
diameter is over 2.5m is equipped with a safety valve to release
the air inside in case it’s overpressured. The diagram below shows

3. Tide Adaptation
Submarine hydro pneumatic fender is filled with pressure air inside
that makes it flexible and easy to float on the water and adapt to
the tide variation.
4. Easy to Install or Replace
Floating on the water makes submarine hydro pneumatic fender easy to moored by means of guy rope or chain. When the fender is not in use, it can be transferred easily after releasing the air inside.
