Quail ACSR 67.33mm2 ASTM B232/232M All aluminum conductor steel reinforced  are widely used for long distance power transmission as they are ideal for long overhead line spans. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding for desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity. The proportion of steel and aluminium in an ACSR conductor can be selected based on the mechanical strength and current carrying capacity demanded by each application. ACSR conductors are recognized for their record of economy, dependability and favourable strength / weight ratio.

 

Against any given resistance of conductor, ACSR may be manufactured for having a wide range of tensile strength as per requirement. The principal advantage of these conductors are high tensile strength so that they are used for longer spans with less supports. Due to the greater diameter of ACSR Conductor a much higher corona limit can be obtained causing big advantages on high as well as extra high voltage Overhead lines.
