Difference between PLC transistor output and relay output

1 , transistor output

High-speed output: If the servo/stepper is used for output with high operating frequency, such as temperature PID control, it is mainly used for stepping motor control, servo control, and solenoid valve control (high valve operating frequency).

2 , service life

Relays are mechanical components so they have a long operating life.

Transistors are electronic components that only age and have no limit on the number of uses.

3 , current

Transistor Current 0.2A-0.3A Relay 2A.

4 , voltage copyright transistor maximum 24V, relay can be connected to 220V transistor DC, relay AC + DC

5 , load

When using a transistor, it is sometimes necessary to add other things to drive large loads (such as relays, solid state relays, etc.).

6 , relay output type

The CPU drives the relay coil to make the contact pull in, so that the external power supply drives the external load through the closed contact. Its open circuit leakage current is zero, and the response time is slow (about 10ms), which can bring a large external load;

7 , transistor output type

The CPU turns on and off the transistor through optical coupling to control the external DC load. The response time is fast (about 0.2ms), and the external load can be small; 8. The thyristor output type

The CPU turns on the triac through optical coupling to control the external AC load. The open circuit leakage current is large and the response time is fast (about 1ms).
