High Frequency Ultrasound Technology for Welding of Aluminum and Nickel Sheet
Description:
Common ultrasonic metal welding can be divided into high frequency
(above 50Khz), intermediate frequency (30-40khz), and low frequency
(20khz). The high-frequency machine has small power capacity and
thin welding thickness, so we generally refer to the ultrasonic
welding machine as the intermediate frequency and low frequency.
According to the use of points, can be divided into: spot welding,
seam welding, wire harness, sealing and cutting. Since vibration
propagates in metal with various vibration modes: longitudinal
vibration, radial vibration, bending vibration, and torsional
vibration, it is possible to comprehensively analyze which
vibration mode is used according to the material to be welded, and
pressurize based on the vibration mode. The design of the mechanism
and the frame. Various vibration modes are used in various
applications, so it is not appropriate to distinguish between
vibration modes.
Spot welding: The vibration system of the spot welder can be
divided into a longitudinal vibration system, a bending vibration
system and a torsional vibration system according to the vibration
of the acoustic pole. For torsional vibration systems, generally
used for ring welding. Most use a longitudinal vibration system.
Roll welding: Roll welding is generally performed using a bending
vibration system that requires several wavelengths depending on the
diameter of the pad.
Ultrasonic metal welding machine is currently used: for solar
cells, flat solar heat absorbing plates, aluminum-plastic composite
pipe welding, copper, aluminum splicing
Wiring harness: Current application of wire harness welding:
automotive wiring harness; wire head forming; wire mutual welding;
multiple wires are welded to each other; copper and aluminum wire
conversion
Sealing and cutting: Ultrasonic sealing machine: used for sealing
of copper tubes in refrigerators, air conditioners, etc.; vacuum
devices for copper and aluminum tubes.

Welding advantages:
1. Welding material does not melt, non-fragile metal
characteristics
2. Conductive and thermal conductivity after soldering, low
resistivity or near zero
3. Low requirements on the surface of the welded metal, oxidation
or plating can be welded
4. Short welding time, no need for any flux, gas, solder
5. Easy to realize the connection and automatic control between
dissimilar metals
6. Welding without sparks, fast and environmentally safe
One of the main disadvantages of metal ultrasonic welding is that
the power required for welding increases exponentially with the
increase in thickness and hardness of the workpiece, and is
therefore limited to thin parts such as wires, foils, and sheets.
