Picks are direct cutting tools of coal mining machines and roadheaders. The working conditions of the picks are really tough. They are affected by the friction and impact of coal seams or rocks during use. Generally, their working life is relatively short. The main failure is the body of the pick wears out too fast, causing the alloy head to fall off or the tooth body has poor bending resistance, which is bent or broken under strong force.
By using advanced plasma cladding strengthening technology to cladding a layer of high hardness cermet on the pick head, the wear resistance of the picks is significantly improved. The cermet layer has the characteristics of high hardness, good toughness, high-standard of wear resistance and impact resistance, which could protect the pick body well. Due to the layer we used, the wear speed of head tooth body will be reduced, makes the tooth body and the alloy head to wear synchronously to achieve the best fit.
Common picks will generate a lot of sparks during use, especially during rock cutting, which brings great safety hazards to coal production.
