Stationary heavy wall or thin wall barrel rod inserted pump
Stationary heavy wall or thin wall barrel rod inserted pump description:
While there are only two main types of pumps standardized by API, there are four different types of rod pumps. These are classified by the type of barrel (standing or traveling) and where the pump is anchored (top or bottom).
In the RHBC bottom anchor rod inserted pump, the plunger is directly connected with the sucker rod string, and then they move together. The pump barrel is anchored at the bottom by a bottom seating cup. It is suitable for deep well since the barrel only bears pressure from outside and does not bear tensile load and its clearance change is small. But it is not recommended for sandy wells since there is no circulation for the well fluid around the outside of the barrel so pump may become stuck in the tubing by packed sand.
Because the rod inserted pump barrel can only bear the external hydrostatic pressure rather than the tension load caused by the fluid column weight, there is little change in plunger clearance. This makes the pump suitable for deep wells
Compared with other standard deep well pumps, the pump barrel is less likely to crack or bend under pressure
The RHBC rod inserted pump is suitable for deviated wells. However, care should be taken to avoid wearing between the valve stem guide cage and the valve stem. If the guide cage is too hard, it will wear the valve stem. However, this rod pump cannot be used as a long stroke pump or in sandy oil wells
