Stone Paper is type of paper that is made from crushed stone. It’s idea is about sustainable development with respect to our planet. By using mineral power (Calcium Carbonate) Stone Paper bags and packages are tree-free, and no water or bleach is used during production, which is the case during the production of traditional wood pulp paper.
The Calcium Carbonate comes from limestone collected as waste
material from existing quarries for the building and construction
industry. It is ground up down to a fine powder like chalk and the
HDPE acts as a binder for the Calcium Carbonate. It is tough,
durable paper, water and tear resistant. Furthermore, it is
soft, smooth, bright white paper that performs like a film
but without all the petroleum!

What is the difference between stone paper and ordinary paper?
Stone paper is like regular paper, only better. Unlike
ordinary paper, stone paper is waterproof and tear-resistant, and
there is no ink bleeding when writing. Stone paper is brighter,
smoother and more environmentally friendly than ordinary paper. The
materials used to make stone paper are environmentally friendly and
non-polluting, and do not contain trees, water, bleach, acids and
toxic chemicals. For ordinary pulp, producing one ton of
traditional wood pulp paper usually requires 18 large trees, a lot
of energy and 2770 liters of water. The stone paper is mainly made
of waste scraps and crushed stones of the mining and construction
industry. The calcium carbonate used is 80% -90%. Calcium carbonate
is one of the most abundant substances in the world.
Recycling conventional pulp paper is also limited to multiple
cycles. Traditional paper can only be recycled up to 7 times, and
each recycling requires additional virgin fiber. Natural forests
are often cut and burned to plant non-native, fast-growing trees.
Stone paper produces no waste—in production or in the end
product—and can be recycled indefinitely, making it the smarter
paper choice.
