ASTM B366 C276 Hastelloy Nickel Alloy Buttweld Pipe Fitting Elbow B16.9
Alloy C-276 (UNS N10276, W. Nr. 2.4819) is known for its corrosion resistance
in various corrosive media. High molybdenum content provides
resistance to localized corrosion (such as pitting). Low carbon
minimizes the precipitation of carbides during the welding process
to maintain resistance to intergranular corrosion in the heat
affected zone of the welded joint. It is used for chemical
processing, pollution control, pulp and paper production,
industrial and municipal waste treatment, and the recovery of
"acidic" natural gas. Applications in air pollution control include
stacked linings, pipelines, dampers, scrubbers, flue gas reheaters,
fans, and fan casings. In chemical treatment, this alloy is used
for components including heat exchangers, reaction vessels,
evaporators, and conveying pipelines.
Hastelloy C-276 alloy has excellent chemical corrosion resistance,
including strong oxidizing agents such as iron trichloride and
copper chloride, thermal polluting media (organic and inorganic),
chlorine, acid and acid, anhydride, seawater and brine solutions.
It is used in flue gas desulfurization systems because it has
excellent resistance to Liu compounds and chloride ions in most
scrubbers. C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting
corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few
materials that can withstand the corrosive effects of wet LV gas,
hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide.

listed in NACE MR0175 and is used for oil and gas services.

Corrosion resistance:
Hastelloy C-276 is a tungsten-containing nickel-chromium-molybdenum
alloy with very low silicon carbon content and is considered to be
a good corrosion resistant alloy. The alloy has the following
characteristics: ① Excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive
media in the oxidation and reduction atmosphere. Excellent
resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress
corrosion. The high content of molybdenum and chromium make the
alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion, and the tungsten element
further improves the corrosion resistance. At the same time, C-276
alloy is one of the only several materials resistant to the
corrosion of humid chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide
solutions, and has significant corrosion resistance to high
concentrations of chloride salt solutions such as ferric chloride
and copper chloride. Suitable for sulfuric acid solutions of
various concentrations, it is one of the few materials that can be
applied to hot concentrated sulfuric acid solutions.
