The corrosion resistance of Werkstoff No. 2.4819 alloy C276 forged fittings extends to strong solutions of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and a number of other corrosive chemicals, including oxidising salts such as ferric chloride and copper chloride. In fact, alloy C-276 butt-weld elbows are a tubing with excellent resistance to oxidising atmospheres up to 1040°C, while allowing the direction of the medium to be changed. In addition to being used in the chemical processing industry, alloy C276 butt-weld fittings are used in flue gas desulphurisation plants, petrochemical plants, critical components for waste water treatment, waste incineration and in difficult areas such as acid gas production and organic acid processing.
