Introduction of Stainless steel bars

 

Stainless steel bars include black bars&bright bars&round bars&square bars&hexagonal bars&special-shaped bars&free-cutting bars, etc. The surface of the stainless steel bright rod is bright, that is the hot-rolled stainless steel black rod is cold-drawn through a cold rolling mill to remove the black color on the surface. Stainless steel bright rods are generally cold drawn(finely ground or polished), with good surface brightness and wide applications.

Stainless bars boast a range of highly valued characteristics, but by far the most important of these is the one that gives the alloy its ‘stainless’ name: corrosion resistance. This is achieved through the alloying process - stainless steel is a metal alloy whose chief constituents are iron and chromium, and to qualify as stainless steel, the metal must contain no less than 10.5% chromium (in practice it’s often slightly more).

Other common ingredients generally present at varying percentages in stainless steel include silicon, carbon and manganese. Further alloying additions for achieving specific applications/characteristics of the finished product are often introduced during manufacture; these might typically include titanium, molybdenum, nickel, copper or nitrogen. The total quantity of alloying ingredients in a finished piece of stainless steel can frequently be as high as 30%.

 

 

What is Stainless Steel 321

 

SS321 is a titanium stabilised chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with good strength and excellent corrosion resistance, as supplied in the annealed condition with a typical brinell hardness of 175.Characterised by high corrosion resistance in general atmospheric corrosive environments it exhibits excellent resistance to most oxidizing agents, general foodstuffs, sterilizing solutions, dyestuffs, most organic chemicals plus a wide variety of inorganic chemicals, also hot petroleum gases, steam combustion gases, nitric acid, and to a lesser extent sulphuric acid. It displays good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and has excellent weldability. The key feature of 321 stainless is its resistance to inter-granular corrosion. It contains titanium, which stabilizes against chromium carbide formation. This material is also stronger than 304 stainless.

 

 

Difference between flat bar and steel plate

 

The main difference for both of flat bar and steel plate is about technology craft. The flat bar steel belongs to structural steel such as angle bar and steel channel, etc. with molding method of hot rolled and cold drawn. Its hot rolled flat bar is width with max 150mm, and thickness with max 60mm. However flat bar's edge is circular arc. The flat bar steel is widely used. It looks like a slab cut from a common steel plate, but it is actually hot rolled. The edge of flat steel is called rolling edge. Rolling edge guarantees the strength of its edge.
