What is Type 301 Stainless Steel? Type 301 is a chromium nickel

ductility by cold working. It is not hardenable by heat treatment.
Type 301 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and becomes
increasingly magnetic with cold working.
What is the difference between 304 and 301 stainless
steel?Generally speaking, grade 301 tends to be a little less
corrosion resistant than grade 304 because the 301 alloy has a
lower chromium content and a higher level of carbon. At higher
temperatures, the difference in corrosion resistance is more
pronounced.
