Q series wireline drill rod
Drill rods must be pretorqued with the minimum recommended make-up torque to preload the box and pin prior to drilling. Drilling torque alone will not make-up the joint. Drilling operating torque should never exceed make-up torque.
• Z-50 Thread Compound is the recommended thread lubricant to
reduce wear and the possibility of galling during drilling
operations.
• To reduce the friction between the walls of the hole and the
drill rod, apply rod grease to the surface of the drill
rods.Rod grease also reduces in-hole vibration, increasing tool and
equipment service life.
