Mirror-effect Ink for screen printing

Mirror effect ink is a unique finish that blended with special aluminum pigment to create a metallic briant effect. Strong image clarity combined with high travel give products the premium look desired by consumers.

Function& Application:

AFC Ink was mainly used in the products of Common glass, Film switch, Screen of Mobile phone, Display panel of Home appliance.It is printed in the reverse side of common glass and PCPETPVCPMMA materials. From the front, it show the great Mirror-effect.

Caution&Note:

  1. Choose of thinner. BCS. use #783 as thinner in PET/PMMA.
  2. Caused by the different proportion of pigments, resins, agents and additives, before use, it must be evenly stired since the compositions in the ink will be layered after store, after evenlystired, it can be directly used for printing.
  3. Because of its low viscosity, the 250-300 mesh silkscreen is suitable for printing.
  4. Squeegee rigidity in 70-80 degrees and the angle from 60 to 70 degrees is recommended.The printing area can cover 25-35 m2 when use 300 mesh silkscreen.
  5. AFC Ink can be self-dry or baking at low temperature with good printing compatibility, and noteasily block the screen.
  6. Self-dry in 10 mins or by baking in 15mins at 60-200℃.
  7. Minimum package: 1kg Quality period: 6 months.
  8. Cool and dry condition for storage. Tightly sealed after use, avoid fire and high temperature.
  9. Because of the complexity of printing materials, full test and trial use should be done before use in bulk.

 

 

Some problems when use:

Bad adhesion of mirror-effect ink after printing:

Reason: general speaking, in order to guarantee the good mirror effect of printing ink ,the content of resin is relatively low, so that affect the adhesion of ink, which is determined by ink’s characteristics.

Solution: by increasing volume of resin and using hardener.

 

 

Bad mirror effect of ink after printing:

Reason:

1. Not suitable printing substrate is selected, mirror-effect ink show the great mirror effect when it was printed in the high transparent materials such as PET/PC/Glass, but not good mirror effect in the ordinary materials.

2. In order to increase the adhesion of mirror-effect ink, some customers add transparent oil or other additives into it, that affect the mirror effect of ink.

3. When the printing substrate of no resistance to solvent is used, strong solvent will corrode the substrate and affect the mirror effect.

 

Problem of screen blocked by mirror-effect printing ink:

Reason:

In order to have good mirror effect, the resin content of mirror-effect ink is relatively low, at the same time, in order to get the normal viscosity of ink, the content of solvent in the ink is relatively high, however, the volatile speed of solvent is so fast and it makes the problem of blocking screen by printing ink. So the mirror-effect printing ink should be printed at fast speed.
