Working Principle Description:

The working principle of a self-contained VPSA (Variable Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generator, which does not require external gas supply, is as follows:

Adsorbent Beds: The self-contained VPSA oxygen generator consists of multiple adsorbent beds filled with a specialized adsorbent material, such as a zeolite molecular sieve. These beds are designed to selectively adsorb nitrogen while allowing oxygen to pass through.

Adsorption Phase: Ambient air is drawn into the oxygen generator and directed into one of the adsorbent beds. The adsorbent material in the bed preferentially adsorbs nitrogen molecules, resulting in an increased concentration of oxygen in the remaining gas. Oxygen exits the adsorption bed and is collected for further processing and utilization.

Desorption Phase: As the adsorbent bed becomes saturated with nitrogen, it needs to be regenerated. In a self-contained VPSA system, a portion of the produced oxygen is used for desorption. The pressure in the bed is reduced, and the oxygen-rich gas is redirected back into the bed for desorption. This process releases the adsorbed nitrogen, which is then vented out of the system.

Bed Switching: While one adsorbent bed undergoes desorption, the other beds continue adsorbing nitrogen. The system switches between beds in a cyclic manner to ensure a continuous supply of oxygen. The switching can be controlled based on predetermined time intervals or monitored oxygen concentration.

Oxygen Purification: The oxygen obtained from the adsorption phase may still contain trace impurities. To ensure high-purity oxygen, additional purification processes such as filtration, drying, and sometimes cryogenic distillation are employed within the self-contained VPSA system.

Oxygen Storage and Distribution: The purified oxygen is typically stored in tanks or cylinders within the self-contained VPSA system. It can then be distributed to various applications as needed, such as medical facilities, industrial processes, or other oxygen-dependent systems.

By utilizing the self-contained VPSA technology, these oxygen generators are capable of operating without the need for an external gas supply. The system generates oxygen from ambient air, utilizes a portion of the produced oxygen for desorption, and ensures a continuous supply of high-quality oxygen for various applications.

Product Advantages:

The absence of external gas supply in VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generators is reflected in the following aspects:

Self-sufficiency: VPSA oxygen generators produce oxygen by utilizing the oxygen resource present in the air, without relying on an external gas supply. Through the use of adsorbents, they adsorb nitrogen from the air, separating and extracting oxygen. This allows the oxygen generator to independently generate the required oxygen without the need for an external gas supply.

Closed-loop circulation: VPSA oxygen generators employ a closed-loop circulation system, recycling the gases internally. During the oxygen production process, the adsorbents adsorb nitrogen, resulting in the separation of pure oxygen. The adsorbents are then regenerated and reused, enabling a continuous recycling process. This means that the oxygen generator does not require a continuous external gas supply but rather extracts and separates gases within its internal circulation.

Autonomous operation: Due to the absence of external gas supply, VPSA oxygen generators can operate independently without relying on external gas sources. Once the equipment is running properly, it can sustain continuous oxygen production, providing the required oxygen supply without the need for an external gas source.

Therefore, the absence of external gas supply in VPSA oxygen generators is manifested in their ability to extract and separate oxygen self-sufficiently from the air, employ a closed-loop circulation system to recycle internally generated gases, and operate autonomously without dependence on external gas sources. This makes VPSA oxygen generators a self-contained and reliable solution for oxygen supply.
