The CA168-S is a 35 mm Din Rail mounting keypad based single phase prepayment electric meter.

The meter works with a broad range of current 5(80)Amp and voltage -60%~ +30% V and  the rugged RF withstand of 30 Vm. It is ideal for submetering and retrofitting installations in very harsh environments. 

 

The CA168 -S consists of two parts. A customer interface unit (CIU),  and a main meter, metering and control unit (MCU). The CIU is a keypad based display,  to be installed within consumers homes wherever there is a plug point. The MCU is the main meter,  installed away from consumer's home in a kiosk pavement, meter box or a pole-mounted enclosure .Prepayment encryption decryption, critical metering only happens with MCU and CIU is just for the consumer to punch in token code and toggle information displays. MCU communicates with CIU via wireless communication such as Power Line Carrier (PLC), Radio Frequency(RF), and LoRa.  This feature allows for easy inspection by utility and service providers at any time without visiting consumers' houses  and reduces the chance of tampering.   

 

The communication features allows the meter to speak with a back-end server in two way communication mode. A utility can do remote readout, block / unblock meters, tariff setting, emergency credit input, etc.
