Introduction of Galvalume Steel Coil

The hot dip galvalume steel is a kind of coated steel. With the cold rolled steel of different strength and thickness as substrate, it is produced through applying Al-Zn coat on both faces by hot dip process. In its coating, Al accounts for about 55%, Si 1.6%, while the remainina is Zn. It enjoys both the physical protective feature and durability of Al and the electrochemical protective property of Zn. And its surface has bright silver color and regular embossed-like figure, which are highly decorative.

1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Similar to galvanized steel, the Al-Zn coating will protect the base metal. Especially, when the zinc layer is worn, there will be a layer of dense alumina to prevent the base metal from further corrosion. It is proved that GL steel will serve 3 times longer than GI steel does. That’s why GL steel is preferred in severe environments.

2. Great Heat Resistance
Aluzinc steel has good heat resistance to withstand temperatures of more than 300 degrees Celsius, and it is often used in chimney pipes, oven illuminators, and lampshades.

3. High Heat Reflectivity
The thermal reflectivity of GL is twice of galvanized steel so it is often used as a heat-insulating material. Therefore, it is a better choice for roofing in a hot climate.

4. Beautiful Appearance
The surface of GL steel is smooth and with spangles, which makes it good-looking. So it can be used directly without painting.

1). Production scheduling:

All quality details required by customers, such as (RAL)color, glossiness, paint film thickness, weight per meter, width, roll length, roll weight, package as well as tolerance and delivery time, should be clearly recorded in the production sheet.

2). Following up manufacturing:

According to the requirements of the production schedule and the workshop operation standards, the production will be completed step by step to ensure that the quantity, quality, packing and delivery time are in conformity with the requirements of the buyers and relevant international standards.

3). Quality Inspection:

All goods will be inspected after finishing manufacture, a series of tests will be carried out, such as pencil hardness test, scribing hardness (also known as scratch hardness test), cut test, coating thickness measure, glossiness measure, impact test, moisture resistance test. Survey report will be issued and presented to clients.

1.Q: What is a galvalume Coil?

A: Galvalume steel is carbon steel coated with an alloy that combines the impervious properties of aluminum with the malleability and galvanic protection of zinc. The alloy coating gives galvalume steel coil and sheets a smooth, plain finish.

2.Q: When should galvalume not be used?

A: Galvalume should not be used on, in, or around concrete or mortar. Concrete and mortar are highly alkaline environments. Bare Galvalume and painted Galvalume sheets suffer rapid corrosion when in contact with mortar and concrete. Bare Galvanized and painted Galvanized perform better in this type of environment.

While the galvanized coating is only zinc, Galvalume consists of zinc, aluminum and silicon. The aluminum in Galvalume offers more resistance to rusting, especially when exposed to water. Galvalume-coated metal is less likely to rust than normal galvanized metal.
