CNC Custom Made Parts CNC Turning Aluminium Parts CNC Machining Center Service

While traditional machining involves a skilled machinist manually operating a machine to remove

or shape metal based on specifications from designers and engineers, CNC machining performs

the same metal cutting, drilling, milling, boring, grinding, and other metal forming and removal

functions with a crucial distinction — it employs computer numerical control rather than manual

operation.

Traditional machining relies on tools such as turn wheels, dials, switches, chucks, vices, and

cutting tools made of materials like hardened steel, carbide, and industrial diamond.

Measurements are taken to ensure accuracy. In contrast, CNC machining is automated and

code-driven, developed by programmers. It delivers consistent precision from the initial cut to

subsequent repetitions, making it suitable for digital manufacturing and low-volume production.

CNC machining's advantage lies in its flexibility for revisions and alterations, accommodating

modifications and different materials with ease. While traditional machining retains its place,

CNC machining has largely taken over in manufacturing, fabrication, and industrial production due

to its superior precision and automation.

Product Details

CNC machining machines possess the versatility to cut through an extensive array of materials,

encompassing aluminum, bronze, copper, ceramics, plywood, diverse steel types, stone, wood,

zinc, and various engineering materials.

This broad range of capabilities positions CNC machining as an optimal solution for prototype

creation in product development. It facilitates the ability to make accurate and swift adjustments

until achieving satisfaction with the final product.

The Most Popular Materials
NameCharacteristics
Aluminum 6061Good strength-to-weight ratio, excellent machinability, low hardness
Stainless Steel 304Good strength-to-weight ratio, excellent machinability, low hardness
Brass C360Excellent mechanical properties, resistant to corrosion & acid, relatively difficult to machine
ABSExcellent impact resistance, good mechanical properties, susceptible to solvents
Nylon (PA6 & PA66)Excellent mechanical properties, high toughness, poor moisture resistance
POM (Delrin)High stiffness, excellent thermal & electrical properties, relatively brittle

CNC Machining Tolerances

Tolerances are not standardized across all processes and materials. The final tolerances on your

part depend on various factors, such as part size, design complexity, the number and size of

features, materials used, surface finish, and the manufacturing process employed.

Once your order is confirmed, we conduct a Design for Manufacturing review to identify areas

that may need modification for better manufacturability.

Applications of CNC Turning

CNC machining, as a versatile subtractive manufacturing method, plays a vital role across diverse

industries. Here are some key sectors where CNC machining is heavily utilized:

1. Aerospace: The aerospace industry relies on CNC machining to produce intricate and

high-precision components for aircraft and spacecraft, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

2. Automotive: CNC machining is integral to the automotive sector for crafting precise

components, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of vehicles.

3. Aviation: Similar to aerospace, the aviation industry benefits from CNC machining's precision

in manufacturing components that meet stringent safety and performance standards for aircraft.

4. Transportation: The broader transportation industry, including rail and maritime sectors,

employs CNC machining to fabricate robust and precise components that withstand challenging

operational conditions.

These industries showcase the widespread adoption of CNC machining, highlighting its

indispensable role in manufacturing processes where accuracy, consistency, and intricate

detailing are essential.

FAQ's

1. What size of fillets are added when no specific fillet is specified by the 3D model

or drawing?

When no specific fillet radius is outlined in the 3D model or drawing, the machinist will incorporate

fillet radii at their discretion to optimize for easy machining. In instances where a particular fillet

radius is needed, explicit specification is encouraged. As a rule of thumb, consider internal vertical

edge radii exceeding 1/3 of the depth, while internal horizontal edges may either remain sharp or

be introduced with a radius ranging from 0.5mm to 1mm.

2. What industries do you typically work in? Who are your typical customers?

It's hard to find an industry we haven't collaborated with! Our clientele represents diverse sectors,

including heavy equipment manufacturing, general commercial enterprises, and businesses in

industrial, transportation, medical, and consumer domains, among others.

Our customer base extends across the United States, Europe, and beyond. What unites them is

a shared requirement for precision-machined parts delivered on time and within budget constraints.

3. What is your typical lead time? Can my parts be produced on a rush basis?

For screw machine products, our usual lead time—covering quoting, manufacturing, and shipping

—is approximately one week, with an impressive on-time delivery rate surpassing 99%.

Depending on various factors such as tooling, gauges, and material availability, there's potential to

expedite the production of your parts. Just let us know your requirements!
