Brass CNC Turned Parts CNC Custom Machining Parts Turning CNC Machine Service

CNC machining, short for Computer Numerical Control machining, encompasses various machine

types that employ computer-controlled tools to subtract material from a workpiece. The utilization

of computer control imparts notable advantages to CNC machining, rendering it significantly faster,

more precise, and accurate compared to conventional machining methods.

Product Details

Brass, an alloy composed of copper and zinc, is a highly sought-after material for various

components. Its exceptional dimensional accuracy, sturdiness, durability, and resistance to

corrosion make it a widely demanded choice for copper-based products.

We specialize in the production of a diverse range of brass turned parts, including sensor

components, heat transfer elements, conductive elements, connectors, and more.

Our advanced CNC lathes and automatic lathe processing facilities enable us to

precision-machine brass parts with tight tolerances and surface finishes tailored to customer

specifications.

Additionally, we subject the parts to rigorous heat treatment and chemical plating processes,

enhancing their mechanical properties and wear resistance to ensure optimal performance in

accordance with the functional requirements of our customers' products.

Common Brass Materials
No.Properties
Brass Cz121Brass Cz121/C360 (CNC) is a highly machinable alloy with good tensile strength and natural corrosion resistance. Ideal for parts that require low friction.
Brass C360Brass C360 (CNC) is highly machinable alloy with good tensile strength and natural corrosion resistance. Ideal for parts that require low friction.

Brass Finishing and Post-Processing

360 Brass has a shiny yellow finish that varies depending on surface roughness.

It can be hand-polished to increase its sheen, or media blasted for more of a matte texture.

FAQ's

1. What are your tolerances for machined parts?

Our tolerances for machined parts are as follows:

Local tolerances of +.005”/- .005” are applicable across most geometries in metals, with a variation

of +/- 0.010" for plastics. Tolerances may differ for large parts, particularly concerning flatness over

large parts after heat treatment.

For "As Milled" finish, a minimum surface finish of 125 is required for CNC parts.

All fabricated parts adhere to a dimensional tolerance of 0.010” and an angular tolerance of 1°.

Tapped holes not explicitly called out as features on the quoted CAD model may be machined to the

diameters specified in that model.

Surface treatments (e.g., anodize, bead blast, iridite, powder coat, etc.) will not be applied unless

explicitly paid for and acknowledged.

2. How Much Does CNC Machining Cost?

The cost of CNC machining a part is influenced by various factors, including:

1. Material: The choice of material significantly impacts cost. Machining materials like Inconel are

more expensive due to increased tool wear and slower cutting speeds compared to materials like

aluminum.

2. Complexity: Parts with complex features are more expensive to machine. For instance,

components with intricate surface shapes incur higher costs than those with flat surfaces.

3. Tolerances: Tight dimensional tolerance requirements contribute to higher costs. Over-specifying

tight tolerances on non-critical features can increase CNC machining expenses.

4. Surface Finish: Achieving mirror finishes demands specialized tooling and machining strategies,

prolonging machining time and elevating costs.

5. Quantity: Low-volume production is inherently costlier per part than large-volume production.

The higher fee stems from spreading initial setup and programming costs over fewer parts.

3. Why choose CNC machining?

CNC machining offers several advantages, making it a preferred manufacturing solution:

1. Speed: CNC machining is known for its rapid production capabilities, allowing for the quick creation

of end-use parts.

2. Accuracy: The precision of CNC machining ensures high-quality and accurate parts, meeting tight

tolerances and specifications.

3. Versatility: CNC machining is a versatile process suitable for a wide range of materials and part

complexities. It can handle various geometries and designs.

4. Cost-Efficiency: Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, CNC machining doesn't require expensive

hard tooling or elaborate set-ups, contributing to cost savings.
