What are the pros and cons of carbon steel?
From Google search: High-carbon steel has 0.6–0.99% carbon content
and is exceptionally strong, while ultra-high carbon steel contains
1.0–2.0% carbon and can be tempered to great hardness.
Disadvantages: Low-carbon steels suffer from yield-point runout and
mild steel has a relatively low tensile strength.
Why is carbon stronger than steel?
While both carbon fiber and steel are supremely resistant to
deformation, steel is far denser and carbon fiber is about five
times lighter in weight, making it roughly five times stronger than
steel in this respect.
