Philip VM6 VM8 Patient Monitor Rechargeable Li-ion Battery 453561731923
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery used in the monitor is an intelligent battery with integrated circuits that communicates battery status information to the monitor. The battery charges automatically when the monitor is connected to AC power. To maximize battery life, follow these guidelines:
• If the battery shows signs of damage or leakage, replace it immediately.
• Never use a defective battery in your monitor.
• Dispose of batteries in an environmentally friendly manner. Please consult your facility manager or local Philip representative for local regulations. Never dispose of batteries in normal waste containers.
• Do not leave batteries in the monitor if you will not use them for a long period of time. Batteries should always be stored at less than 50% charge. Note: To maximize the life of your monitor's lithium-ion battery, Philip recommends fully charging it (overnight) at least once a month.

Charge the battery
The monitor is powered by a 7200 Ah 11.1 V smart lithium-ion battery. The battery charge lasts at least four hours of continuous monitoring (without printing) and the NIBP is measured every 15 minutes. The battery takes less than four hours to fully charge. You can charge the battery while using the monitor. Batteries may require a full discharge/charge cycle to regain full capacity. If the monitor operates on a fully charged battery for less than one hour before the low battery alarm occurs, the battery must be replaced. For information on how to replace the battery, see Chapter 8, Repairing Your Monitor.
The battery will charge as long as the monitor is connected to AC
power. When you first receive the monitor, the battery may be low.
Before using battery power alone, connect the monitor to AC power.
The charging LED on the front panel provides the battery charge
status
The color of the LED shows how much charge is left in the battery:
• Green: The battery is fully or almost fully charged
• Flashing green: The battery is medium sized
• Yellow: The battery is low.
• Flashing yellow: The battery is almost empty
The battery status panel at the bottom of the monitor's LCD screen
also displays battery status.
