► Brief Introduction
Philip HeartStart XL M4735A defibrillator can be used for short-term or long-term ECG monitoring. The ECG monitoring feature allows you to:
When the Heart Start XL is on, the acquired ECG will be shown on the display. The ECG can be monitored with pads, 3 leads (I, II, III) or 5 leads (I, II, III, aVR, aVL, aVF or V). The default is lead II. ECG monitoring can also display heart rate (HR) and allow you to set HR alerts.
ECG monitoring is always activated in manual mode. In AED mode, ECG monitoring is only active if the lead selection is configured on (default is on). Plug the 3-lead or 5-lead ECG patient cable into the connector labeled ECG.
► ECG Board
The ECG Board is located in the top case, behind the printer bucket. Depending on the serial number and type of Display, your device may have a plastic shield under the ECG Board. Additionally, there are two types of plastic shields, one with a hood and one without.
► Removal
1. Disconnect the ECG Board (four cables).
A. Disconnect the large ribbon cable by pulling straight up (connects to the Control Board ).
B. Disconnect the small 3-pin connector next to the ribbon cable (connects to the ECG Out Connector). Press on the latch to release it.
C. Disconnect the cable at the opposite end of the Board (connects to the ECG Connector). Press on the latch to release the connector.
D. Disconnect the flex circuit (connects to the SpO2 PCA). Unlatch the brown receptacle on the PCA by pulling on the top of the receptacle, then slide out the flex circuit.
2. (For devices with no shield.) Remove the ECG Board .
A. Unscrew the T10 screw located near the large ribbon connector.
B. Lift the PCA out of the case.
3. (For devices with an open plastic shield.) Remove the ECG Board .
A. Unscrew the T10 screw located near the large ribbon connector. Be careful not to break the tab.
B. Lift the PCA out of the case.
4. (For devices with a hooded plastic shield). Remove the ECG Board .
A. Unscrew the T10 screw located on the tab of the shield, near the large ribbon connector. Be careful not to break the tab.
B. Lift the PCA out of the case.
C. Remove the plastic shield, if damaged.
D. If the shield is not damaged, you can leave it in place. Otherwise, remove the two rubber standoffs and the shield.
5. Remove the ECG Board .
A. Lift the ECG Board out of the case.
