Fiber optic patch cables descriptions: 

These high speed single-mode 9/125um fiber optic patch cables are terminated with SC/APC fiber optic connectors on one end and also SC/APC fiber optic connectors on the other end (SC/APC-SC/APC). Ferrule Connectors ("SC") is used in high-vibration environments and are commonly used for data-com, telecom, measurement equipment and single-mode lasers. They are slowly becoming less common in today's expanding fiber optic world. Referred to as Subscriber Connectors, Square Connectors or Standard Connectors, these push-pull connectors are the most common choice for FTTH (fiber to the home) applications in use for Data-com and Telecom and most GBIC modules require this connector type.
