OPGW Aeirlal wire 24/48 core OPGW fiber optic cable single mode G652D
Central loose tube type
The fibers is placed loosely in a sealed and water resistant stainless steel tube filled with water blocking gel. This tube provides protection to the fiber during installation and operation under severe environmental conditions. Aluminium layer over the tube is optional. The stainless optical tube is located at the center of the cable protected by single or multiple layers of aluminium clad steel and aluminium annoy wires. The aluminium clad steel wires are shaped trapezoidally around the optical unit to provide compact construction. The metallic wires provide mechanical strength to withstand severe installation and operating conditions, while achieving conductivity to controltemperature rise during short circuit conditions.
Multi loose tube ty
Multiple loose tube type
The fibers are enclosed in a water-resistant stainless steel tube containing water-blocking gel. The inner layer of a multi-layer standard cable consists of two or three stainless steel optical tubes that are helically stranded. The multiple loose tube type is suitable for high fiber count demands (over 48 fibers) with a maximum of 144 fibers. It can meet the requirements of large current capacity and extensive cross-sections.
Application
The OPGW serves as both a ground wire and communication system on new power lines, particularly on normal and extra high-voltage lines. It can replace conventional ground wires, providing added fiber communication and offering short circuit current and lightning resistance.
OPGW cables are primarily used on 500KV, 220KV, and 110KV lines. They are typically employed in new lines due to power cut and security limitations. They are best suited for high-voltage lines over 110KV with long spans (typically exceeding 250 meters).
Features
The cable can accommodate up to 144 fibers.
The cable has a diameter and weight that are approximately the same as another ground wire, which adds less additional load to the tower while still providing high tensile strength.
The use of excellent stainless steel tube stranding technology allows the fibers to have good secondary excess length and enables them to move freely within the tube, keeping the fibers stress-free while the cable is subjected to longitudinal stress.
The optical fibers are protected by stainless steel tubes.
The cable provides excellent security and has good bullet resistance performance.
The ACSW, AAW, and SST stranded design offers a wide range of combinations of electrical conductivity and mechanical tensile strength.
Fiber and Loose Tube Color Identification

Packing & Shipping
The OPGW must be wound tightly and uniformly onto a sturdy wood-iron reel that complies with ANSI/AA 53-1981 standards or an equivalent. The reel should be reinforced with sturdy wood-iron battens to ensure that the OPGW remains undamaged during ordinary shipping, handling, storage, and stringing operations. A drawing of the reel is included.
We choose different types of reels (D, d, b, w1, w2) to load the cable, based on its length.
