Network TAP Load Balance for Network Monitor and Analysis System Application

What does Network Analysis System work?

The network analysis system is a portable network analysis system that supports wired and wireless network capture and analysis of data packets, which is very convenient for network managers to install and deploy. Help network administrators solve various network problems and quickly and accurately find the root of the problem. It decodes, detects, analyzes and diagnoses all data packets transmitted in the network, helping network administrators to eliminate network accidents, avoid security risks, improve network performance, and increase network availability value.
Quickly discover and eliminate network faults;

- Discover network bottlenecks and improve network performance;
-Discover and resolve various network abnormal crises to improve security;
-Manage resources, count and record the traffic and bandwidth of each node;
- Tweak the network, view connections to various applications, services and hosts, monitor network activity;
- Manage web applications.

Does the user have Network Analysis Pain Points?

When the user network upgrade to 10G, 25G, 40G or higher bandwidth, the Network  Monitoring and Analysis equipment (audit / IDS / APM / NPM) how to monitor?

Customer Case & Solution

Case:

1 x 40G aggregator with MPO (SR4) multimode interface and 10G output
4-port 40G passive tap with MPO (SR4) multimode interface
Since the current total utilization is only 10% of the total link capacity, I only need the aggregation capability of the packet broker. The output of the aggregator must be only 10G, because the LiveCapture device only has capacity enabled on 10G. They will only upgrade the interface if the total traffic exceeds 10G. These 4 ports come from a 40G switch and they are connected to each other redundantly. So I need at least 8 40G passive tap ports to plug into this network. The output of the 40G passive tap will be connected to the packet proxy (40G interface). PacketBroker pushes traffic to 10GE output which will connect to network monitoring device (LiveCapture) 10G, I need at least 2 10G ports. This setup will be created as the existing budget is not sufficient to cover the full monitoring costs of 40G. They will currently be doing 10G real-time capture, and will upgrade once the traffic exceeds 10G.

Solution:

For example in image,
1- 8 x ports 40G from Passive TAP to Broker port 1 - 8(40/100G QSFP28 module)
2- Broker port 1-8 Load Balancing output to port 20-27 to be as 40G
3- Port 20 of 40G division into 4 ports 20.0, 20.1, 20.2 and 20.3 as 10G output(MPO QSFP28 module)
4- Finally, you can get 4 x 10G(port 20.0, 20.1, 20.2 & 20.3), and 7 x 40G(port 21 - 27)
Actually, now the current network traffic is not reached to be full 40G. According to the future upgrade, the options will be:
1- Two units of model "NT-FTAP-54ECX" with 6 x 40/100G QSFP28 ports plus 48 x 10G SFP+
2- One unit of "NT-FTAP-32QCX" with 32 x 40/100GE QSFP28 ports via the Load Balance output.
