Disposable Medical PVC Endobronchial Tube Double-lumen Endotracheal Tube

A double-lumen tube is an endotracheal tube designed to isolate the lungs anatomically and physiologically. Double-lumen tubes are the most commonly used tubes to provide independent ventilation for each lung.

A double-lumen tube(DLT)offers the advantage of ease of insertion and the ability to suction and oxygenate the operative lung with CPAP.

The Double Lumen Catheter is designed for acute hemodialysis and apheresis. It may be inserted percutaneously and is ideally placed in the jugular vein. Although this catheter may be inserted into the subclavian or femoral, the internal jugular is the preferred site.

A double-lumen endotracheal tube (DLT) is a specialized medical device used in endotracheal intubation to provide separate pathways for ventilation and airway management in specific clinical scenarios. It consists of two lumens, each with its own inflatable cuff, allowing for independent control of ventilation and lung isolation.

Features:

  • Dual Lumens: The DLT has two lumens, a primary lumen and a secondary lumen, each with its own inflatable cuff. The primary lumen is used for ventilation and oxygen delivery, while the secondary lumen is used for suctioning, bronchoscopy, or independent lung ventilation.
  • Cuffed Lumens: Both lumens of the DLT have inflatable cuffs to create a seal against the tracheal wall. This prevents air leakage and ensures effective ventilation and lung isolation.
  • Radiopaque Marker: The DLT features a radiopaque marker along its length, allowing for accurate positioning and visualization under fluoroscopy or X-ray. This aids in confirming proper placement of the tube within the trachea.
  • Depth Markings: The tube is marked with depth markings to assist in determining the appropriate insertion depth and to ensure the tube is positioned correctly within the trachea.
  • Reinforced Tip: The tip of the DLT is reinforced to provide rigidity and facilitate atraumatic insertion into the trachea. The reinforced tip helps prevent kinking or buckling, ensuring smooth passage through the airway.

Benefits:

Lung Isolation: The DLT allows for the isolation of one lung while ventilating the other. This is particularly useful in thoracic surgeries, where one lung needs to be collapsed to allow access to the surgical site.

Selective Ventilation: The DLT enables selective ventilation of each lung, allowing for independent control of ventilation parameters and oxygen delivery to different lung regions. This can be beneficial in managing patients with unilateral lung pathology or compromised lung function.

Improved Oxygenation: The DLT facilitates improved oxygenation by allowing for targeted delivery of oxygen to the ventilated lung, while simultaneously removing carbon dioxide from the non-ventilated lung.

Reduced Risk of Complications: The use of a DLT can help reduce the risk of complications associated with single-lumen endotracheal tubes, such as ventilator-associated pneumonia and barotrauma.

Indications:

The double-lumen endotracheal tube is indicated for use in various clinical scenarios, including:

  • Thoracic surgery
  • Lung isolation procedures
  • Bronchoscopy with lung isolation
  • Management of unilateral lung pathology
  • Differential lung ventilation

Contraindications:

  • The double-lumen endotracheal tube may be contraindicated in certain situations, such as:
  • Severe laryngeal edema or stenosis
  • Tracheal injury or rupture
  • Patients with a strong gag reflex
  • Patients with a narrow oropharyngeal airway

Conclusion:

The double-lumen endotracheal tube is a valuable medical device used in endotracheal intubation procedures requiring lung isolation or selective ventilation. Its dual lumens, inflatable cuffs, radiopaque marker, depth markings, and reinforced tip contribute to safe and effective intubation. The DLT is indicated for use in thoracic surgeries, lung isolation procedures, bronchoscopy with lung isolation, management of unilateral lung pathology, and differential lung ventilation. However, it may be contraindicated in patients with severe laryngeal edema or stenosis, tracheal injury or rupture, a strong gag reflex, or a narrow oropharyngeal airway. Healthcare professionals must carefully assess each patient's condition and consider the potential risks and benefits before selecting the appropriate endotracheal tube for intubation.

FAQ:

Q:What is the difference between double and triple lumen catheter?

A:A double lumen catheter has 2 lumens while a triple lumen catheter has 3. Multi-lumen catheters allow us to run several different infusion with only one access site (Image 2). Multi-lumen catheters are often inserted through a short central line with a wider inner diameter.

Q:What is the difference between single and double-lumen central line?

A:Fewer manipulations occurred In the single-lumen group compared with the double-lumen group, but the Incidence of mechanical complications tended to be greater. When managed carefully, double-lumen CVCs were not associated with a greater risk of infection than single-lumen CVCs.

Q:About Packing:

A:Your packing design is welcomed. We can also design for you. OEM and ODM is available.

Q:What about the lead time for the mass production?

A:Honestly, it depends on the order quantity and the season you place the order.

Q:What can I get the price?
A:We usually quote within 24 hours after we get your inquiry. If you are very urgent to get the price, please tell us in your email so that we will regard you inquiry priority.
