Nitride treatment refers to a chemical heat treatment process that causes nitrogen atoms into the surface layer of the workpiece at a certain temperature at a certain temperature. The aluminum, chromium, sink and molybdenum in the traditional alloy steel are very helpful for nitrogen exudation. Q1: What is nitriding hardening?
A: Gas nitriding is a surface hardening process, where nitrogen is added to the surface of steel parts using dissociated ammonia as the source. Gas nitriding develops a very hard case in a component at relatively low temperature, without the need for quenching.

Q2: How hard is nitride coating?
A: The metallic nitrides are hard and enhance the wear resistance of the surface. This is a well-known process in the heat treatment of steel parts to improve their wear and fatigue resistance. The hardness of the nitrided layer reaches up to 65 Rockwell Hardness (RC) while the substrate hardness is usually around 45 RC.
