2. Pressure drop calculation of packed tower wire mesh packing,
When the pressure drop of the whole column is greater than the
allowable value, the diameter of the column must be enlarged or the
type and specification of the selected packing must be changed.
The pressure drop of the whole tower includes two parts: the
pressure drop of packing layer and the resistance of tower
internals. There is always a certain gap between the calculated
pressure drop and the actual production, especially the dirt in the
packing layer, the crushing of ceramic filler and the thermal
deformation of plastic filler will greatly increase the pressure
drop of packing layer. Therefore, a certain safety factor should be
introduced into the calculated value.
