A Marine windlass is a large deck machine on a ship used to collect and release anchors and chains. The windlass is generally installed on the main deck of the fore and aft part of the ship for the ship to lift and anchor the cable. Windlass is usually used in conjunction with winch. Its development trend is to use one unit to complete anchor pulling, mooring, automatic mooring and mooring.
